In regards to Zax’s mines, as of right now is kind of hard to tell which of the painted three will change the paint scheme of the mine in battle, and the orientation to find the mine is confusing to most players. I believe to help players identify/paint easier, the model can have the mine in question be separated, like how Florio, Lancer can have its model separated from his mech in the painting tool (see attached files). Please give it a consideration, thanks!

I didn’t know you could do that with Florio. Neat!
The correct mine from the model is the frontmost one. The side of the mine on the model that faces the player is the top of the deployable mine and this face is mirrored for the bottom of the deployable mine. The side of the front face of the deployable mine that faces the camera when deployed is the bottom of this front face of the model mine. This makes Zax’s mines like kind of dark when deployed in game, because this area is heavily shadowed in the default paint scheme.
I like the original poster’s idea in having a separate mine object to paint, but I would further refine this suggestion to A) Use the full mine orb for the in game deployable so it can be painted in two halves (like a pokeball) and B) rotate the model of the ingame model 180° so the side facing the camera is the highlighted top side of the mine on the model, not the shadowy gloomside.

You can now paint unit deployables. They will appear next to the main unit inside the paint mode. So if you select Zax for painting, its bomb will show up next to it. You can paint them side-by-side so it’s easier to colour match.
