Tie Paint Schemes To Rosters#793

The painting system is clearly an important and extremely engaging part of the game, it really captures the feel of painting actual miniatures. I ended up spending several hours meticulously painting my first roster before I ever played my first PvP matches, because I wanted My Dudes to look special when I brought them out on the digital tabletop.

But there is a problem. The paint schemes used are saved per unit. I (and I believe most people) like their rosters to have a “uniform” feel, a common set of colors and themes binding them together into one army (or one Crew in this case). I spent a lot of time painting my first Astra list in a certain thematic scheme, but then when I wanted to start painting a Zax list in a completely distinct scheme I realized I would need to manually switch every single unit that was shared between the two rosters to the relevant scheme every time I wanted to switch which roster I played, which was certain to be tedious.

To my mind, the solution is to have rosters save which paint schemes are selected for all the units in them, but keep it saved to that roster. So if, say, I were to want to paint all my units in Astra Roster 1 to be Blue, and included a Blue Switchback, but then I create a Zax Roster 1 and paint all the units in it Red, including a Red Switchback, when I subsequently select Astra Roster 1 Switchback will still by default be Blue Switchback rather than having to manually change him from Red to Blue (and then back the next time I choose to play Zax Roster 1).

YES! This is a MUST!

I had the same idea - My ‘end goal’ for painting is to have a roster that was all plant themed, a roster that looked evil, a roster that looked angellic, etc.

But if the paint jobs are saved per unit vs per roster - you end up having to go in evry single time and manually switch the paint jobs.

Totally agreed. We’re on this.

(it was always the plan, we just ran out of time - that’s the hard part about shipping - you sometimes have to kill your babies)
