reconsider the multiple currencies situation and your revenue model#643

B

I get that it might just be optics but man, paying $30 for a game and then seeing the top bar full of various “currencies” is a real bad feeling. Even if it’s not “predatory” in practice, just that visual is historic shorthand for any seasoned gamer: pay-to-win. nickel-and-dime, predatory BS. And they probably won’t stick around to figure out if it’s “actually” predatory; they’ll just leave a bad review.

I don’t know what makes for a fair but still player-friendly revenue model in gaming these days (too much has changed), but I’d suggest you guys spend some more time noodling on it. And if not that, at least reconsider the optics of that currency bar as soon as the main menu pops up.

The game is effing awesome, otherwise.

I feel the opposite, seeing 3 currency types made it feel better for me. It’s subjective for sure but paying more is always going to give more and to me the more currency types feels like it allows for more options on in game earned stuff.
If it is just one currency then the pay to win aspect is reflected more in the cost of each item and to me that puts a lot of pressure to save and save and causes the unpleasent grind.
two currencies like in MTG Arena, a horrible economy, just makes one feel useless and you end up grinding to just convert one to the other.

Obviously it’s way to early to really judge the economy but so far to me it feels good. Really glad to see automatic and up front dusting.

Just take out the boosters icon and with the change on cargo runs, at least visually it will be less agresive
