Having curated content (e.g. Warframe’s TennoGen) could prove to add lots of valuable content made by the community. Imagine blister packs of dev approved models and pre-painted minis that players could download for free or at a low cost.
Steam Workshop integration could also open the door to alternate game modes, more maps, and even completely new Captains and/or crew units.
Look to XCOM 2 and their (still) highly active modding community, this type of integration keeps games alive even after the devs move onto their next project.
Yes, I hope to increase the workshop and let players make various play modes, mainly for fun rather than competition. And you can also concentrate on selling chess pieces and various decorations.
