AI players need love too#234

PVP gameplay should not be a necesity. Making it mandatory does not help fill out pvp matches. It simply alienates a portion of the potential player base. Giving larger (not exclusive) currency ammounts or rankings should be the only difference between pvp and pve modes.

Though I personaly like pvp, many of my friends will never attempt it unless they are able to get in to the game using pve. Knowing the rewards are better for pvp matches does not encourage them to play that way; they simply see it as forcing them to play at a higher stress level and quit. Why push players to quit before they ever get started. This issue has killed many games for the discord group I run.

This is not an issue of wanting easier matches. AI always has the potential to crush any human. Some people just dont like having to deal with the toxicity that comes with pvp games. Some want to build their skills and only play against humans they actualy know. Just like real life, some play miniatures at public tournaments; some just play against their friends. The simple solution would be to impliment multiple AI difficulty levels, with a scaling reward system that allows people to level at a similar pace to pvp.

Hard agree. I have so many bad experiences of PvP being a nasty place to be that I just prefer to play with friends or against AI. I’d rather not have to play PvP if possible, and it sucks that you kinda have to in order to progress at a decent rate.

This is really important, for many reasons. We’re starting to work a lot more on the AI to make it both better and able to be scaled up or down depending on what’s appropriate for the user.

This is iterative work but expect improvements to the AI with most big updates.
