inform player what moves the AI is making#1323

Hello. I’ve been looking forward to having time to play Moonbreaker since Charlie Cleveland was interviewed on Designer Notes. It’s great so far.

One thing that I think would benefit new players would be an option for the AI’s turns to go more slowly and, ideally, to inform the player what action is being taken. Currently, the AI’s turn occurs too quickly to recognize what’s happening other than movement and attacks. For a new player, or for a player encountering unfamiliar units, this is bewildering! I’d like to learn about the units on both my roster and the AI’s roster so I can get into multiplayer sooner : )

This would also replicate an element of tabletop miniatures games. In Warhammer games, for example, players ask one another about units’ rules to ensure mutual understanding. In just about every tabletop game I’ve ever played—from CCGs to boardgames—a player announces to their opponent(s) what they’re doing.
