Team-Manager-Mode 1#1248

Hello dear community and developers.

First, excuse me please for my bad English.

I have some ideas for a Game mode.
Or I should better say, I took some ideas from other games
(Warhammer Underwolds, Blood Bowl, Hunt Showdown)
Into your Game.

Here are some ideas

Team-manager-mode

System:

  • Every player starts the season with x Gold. Nothing else.
    With that start capital you buy a captain and crews (Units).
    This is how you recruit and build your Team.
    (The units you buy don’t have (their) skills yet.
    At the beginning there should maybe be enough gold, to buy some unit skills,
    that the season is not too boring in the beginning.

  • The maximus of units inclusive captain, for your rooster is 15.
    The min 10. That you can fill your bridge.
    (To play a match, you need at least a complete bridge of 10 crews + your captain.)

  • due to playing matches, and through victories you earn more gold.
    With that gold you can buy new units, upgrade the units, unlock their skills,
    Buy items, target and power cards.
    More Information later.

  • So, during the season there is a progress which the player could directly feel on the battlefield.
    Its motivating and a lot of fun to unlock new things, with that you can adjust your team to your
    playstyle and make your team and options more powerful.

League:

  • The Team-Manager-Mode based on a league system.
    You have to earn x Victory points to reach the next league.

    For example:

    League 6 :
    1 win = 3 victory points
    1 lose = -1 victory points

    League 5 :
    1 win = 2 victory points
    1 lose= -1 victory points

Also, every League have a cap of gold you can invest in your Team and maybe a maximum you can
earn too.
When you climb into the next upper league you can earn and invest gold again.
If the invested gold in the Team is too different between two players, the player with the lower team value can choose some items to use them only in this match, dependent of the difference of the team value
For a lightly compensation between these players for that match.

But in the best case, that shouldn’t be necessary, due to the gold cap of the different leagues.

  • one season goes for example 3 months

Adjustments for every match:

  • Before you searching a match, you have to declare your Team captain and 3/4 crews.
    That declaring units have to be at your bridge.
    That information can your opponent see before the match starts.
    Now every player has to choose units out of his whole rooster, to fill up his bridge.
    Further the players select “target and power cards” and items out of their collection,
    for this match.

That allows the players to choose a lightly different tactic, for each opponent.
if they think they can interpret the enemy’s strategy, based on the information they got
before the match.
Maybe that prevents that players will be confronted with teams they automatically counters
Their own team.

Additionally, there is also the possibility for a best of three mode with a “Map pick and ban”
and variable Crews in every match.
Like the sideboard in Magic for example.

Map pick and ban:
Every player can first pick a map and then ban one map out of the actually mappool.
Then first match will be played on the map of player 1.
The second match on the map which was chosen by player 2.
If it comes to a decider, because the score is 1:1, a random neutral third map of the pool will
Played, which was not banned from the players.
