First of all, I do like the general direction and style the game takes and there is nothing wrong about it and nothing should be changed about it.
I got the game today, hopped into it, did the tutorials and naturally right after went into the collect & paint tab to see what kind of Units there are. And I must admit I was, well, not put off, but disappointed when I looked through the various units. I couldn’t find a single unit that visually spoke to me. They are all great models, but none of them is something I would buy/field in an actual real life game.
Everything very much looks like it is right out of a cartoon, which is not a bad thing at all, but I - as many other players as far as I can tell - come from a Warhammer40k background and while I fully understand that Slaneeshi Demons and Khorn Berserker have no room in a game like this I still would have liked to see a few more “serious” Miniatures. You know, something more “heavy” for lack of better term, as in heavy armour and weight to the model. Furia is the closest the game comes in this regard but I can not field 10 Units of her. I would like to see more Units like Furia, but with bigger armour and preferably human and male. Generally there are relatively few units that are male, none of them bulky, which for me and probably a lot of other people is a bit of a turn off, since I am a bulky male and that is just the type of unit I identify most and best with.
I do believe, that quite a few people would look at the unit selection and just quit the game before ever really trying it. Simply because the could not find anything withing the selection that they wanted to have in their army.
I was still entriqued enough to keep playing, in fact spend 9 hours straight in the game, 7 hours alone on painting.
