
Hey everyone, I have been loving every moment I’ve spent playing this game. One part in particular that has excited me more than anything else has been the fantastic breadth of interesting characters with their own lore and stories that, alongside some wonderful animations and voice work, has really brought The Reaches to life. I’ve been inspired by this and fellow members of the community to come up with my own crew ideas that perhaps fill gameplay niches I would love to play or maybe just have a thematic/aesthetic concept that would be fun. Of course I don’t expect any of my ideas to be put in but if it sparks someone’s imagination on the team that’s quite enough for me!
I give the developers of Moonbreaker full legal rights to use these concepts or take inspiration from them for future units for Moonbreaker.
First up and possibly my favourite. A handy lil runner bot made for running power cells to excavator units in the field, well armoured so as not to be destroyed by falling debris and many legs for extra zoomies.
Crew Concept: Energizer Izi
Visual Concept: A lil erratic spider bot that runs hither and tither fetching whatever her companions might need!
Gameplay Concept: A fast support unit to enable movement shenanigans that would put units in places your opponent thought were safe or allow them to slip through a frontline before it closes to contest objectives etc
Faction: Yi-Aweti

Ability: Cost 2 FR3-ND C3LL
Choose a friendly crew within range, refresh it’s movement and add +2 to it’s speed until the end of the turn, then refresh this crew’s movement.
Next up is me having a little fun with the lore.
Krokanar were thought to have gone extinct with the destruction of Arawatu but life, it would seem, finds a way. They’re powerful creatures that have had little need to change, adapt or evolve since at least recorded history began. Depicted in even the most ancient of Cholek relics.
Crew Concept: Arawatu Krokanar
Visual Concept: A very large alien Crocodilian with a gaping maw.
Gameplay wise this gives an alternative scary melee threat the main role of which is to deny choke points from other melee units with a way to hide from ranged ones. They’re a “counter charge” threat to make melee units think twice about trying to blitz past them.

Passive Ability: Ambush Predator
If a rival unit comes into base contact with this crew, this crew gains first strike keyword and immediately attacks the rival crew.
Ability: 2 cost Submerge
Becomes 50% harder to hit with ranged attacks until this crew attacks.
Another melee threat up next!
The work of a Methadori Executioner is inglorious and brutal. Ironside is everything a good Methadorian should be, he does not grumble at his uneviable task. Whereas many of the Methadori are righteous and glorious I feel there’s room to contrast that with someone who has to do clean up on their “Righteous Proclamations”
Crew Concept: Ironside, Executioner
Visual Concept: Fully encased in armour Methadorian in style with an enclosed helm. Wields a large two handed axe, the head glowing cinder orange hot with the same design language as other weapons of Methadori origin.
Gameplay Concept: I think they make for a good mirror to Furia, Ironside is a tough straight forward melee unit made for wading into the thick of it and finishing tough units off.

This Crew’s attacks automatically crit when the target is below 50% hp
Finally we have a cheap utility piece for opening up games in a more reserved manner. Jolly in nature and slightly overzealous in his application of firepower to clear the earth for new life to sprout. Imagine the energy of an enthusiastic Grandpa and you’re about there!
Crew Concept: Earthturner Johan
Visual Concept: A large Yi-aweti, climbing plants dangling down to form a kind of bushy beard. Possibly wider than he is tall.
Gameplay Concept: I felt there was room for a 1 cost ranged support unit and one that can maintain it’s usefulness all the way into the end game much like Stitchy mc patchy. The Ability can be incredibly helpful to slow down rush comps.

Thanks for the great ideas! I’m so glad you’re digging the game. Sometimes when we’re stuck, we don’t know where to look, so we can refer back to posts like yours and see if it unlocks something for us.
As far as an “alligator” unit goes, I will mention that we do have one coming, although it works a bit differently than your idea. If our design doesn’t work well enough in practice, maybe we can use yours.
