More Expensive Units (10 point cost units)#1201

I’m an Imperial Knight/Tau fan in 40K and my favorite models are big models that cost too many points, but are super cool (Knight Valiant/R’varna) and I’m dissapointed by the lack of super expensive big units. Would love to have a model that costs like 10 points to play and is super powerful, but slow and has expensive abilities. Plus it would be so relaxing to paint a really huge model that I can be proud of and get super excited to see it get played.

Thanks for that. We’ve got some juicier units coming, but I don’t think they’re going to land at the 10 point mark. Those are just so hard to get out. But we’ve got some in the 7 or even 8 point range with expensive cinder abilities that hopefully you will dig (part of the Yi-Aweti crew coming this summer).

As far as bigger models, we haven’t yet figured out a way to get units bigger than our current Large units in the game. I totally agree though, it would be so awesome to get some big models in there. It’s just tricky from a camera and usability perspective. But I hope we’re able to add some at some point.

If I could chip in on this; what about as a game mode?

Lets start by following the ‘C’ theme for the Captain and Crew and call these units Colossi.

In the ‘Colossal Clash’ game mode, you start with your selected Colossus (maybe with a pool of thee or four to choose from) and the aim of the game is to take out your opponent’s Colossus in an ‘assassination’ game mode.

  • You gain twice as much Leadership per turn, and first player starts with four, this gets the crew on deck quickly.

  • Losing the Captain isn’t game over, but it does prevent you from pulling in more crew, so its a massive advantage if you kill the captain first.

  • Terrain is split into two lanes (think a circular ring) that the Colossus can navigate, with smaller passageways that your Crew can exploit in the middle and outside.
