I just wanted to throw my two-cents in. The vast majority of games I play are short-form PvE / Roguelite / Repeatable titles, and while not always a great fit… I feel like it would actually be an excellent mode concept for Moonbreaker.
By simply starting with a small squad (1 captain, 1 crew) and overcoming increasingly difficult / designed encounters, you could have the player earning additional crew members and collecting other general purpose power-ups until they reach the final boss.
What I think you have here is the perfect roster of great characters + squad synergies, by simply re-using them in another gameplay mode you could increase replayability for us non-PvPers whilst also mining for gold with the massive Roguelite/Deckbuilder community.
tl/dr: What if Moonbreaker had a Slay the Spire/Wildfrost mode
Addendum, bonus idea: A campaign set from the perspective of children playing with toy minis based on their favourite sci-fi TV show (Moonbreaker) would be the most adorable thing ever.
You might be getting exactly that in the upcoming singleplayer mode hint hint!
PvE Rougelite sounds like Cargo Run but definitely Im in the group of people who’d be pretty excited for more PvE
This is coming! We’re working hard on “Reaches mode” which is a replayable single-player sandbox with flying around the Reaches, FTL style random encounters and CR “chains” throughout! Look for it this summer.
